Who wins Sunday's Geico 500, and which long shots stun NASCAR? Visit SportsLine now to see the full projected leaderboard, all from the model that has crushed its NASCAR picks and nailed the Daytona 500. These changes will be made in conjunction to a list of updates announced on May 1 for superspeedways, which are tracks that exceed two miles - such as Talladega and Daytona. Specifically, the horsepower in cars will be reduced from 550 to approximately 510 for the race at the 2.66 mile track. A Monday briefing with John Probst, NASCAR Senior Vice President of Innovation and Racing Development, and John Patalak, NASCAR Senior Director of Safety Engineering, revealed changes that would be made for drivers going forward in the 2020 season. This all has to do with the scary crash that Ryan Newman was in during the final lap of the season-opening Daytona 500. The coronavirus-related adjustments will not be the only thing joining drivers on this trip to NASCAR's longest oval, there are also changes that relate to how drivers will perform at the Geico 500 this Sunday. Weeks after it was originally scheduled, the NASCAR Cup Series finally takes its first trip to Talladega Superspeedway of the 2020 season.
